Getting Over A Breakup - Get Over Your Ex
Dating should not be out of the question; after all it doesn’t have to be a romantic thing, just another avenue for adding new people into your life
Relationships take time to reach maturity. The longer you have been in that relationship the harder it will be to get over it when it fails. During that longer period, emotional bonds are built that can make a breakup a very emotional and physically draining experience. Such is usually not the case with short term love affairs. Even though they can be relatively easy to get over they still are not a very pleasant ordeal to have to go through. Herewith are a few tips that may help you start getting over a breakup and get over your ex in a shorter amount of time.
You may want to begin by making a list of all of your ex’s bad qualities... That may be easier said than done but if you put your mind to it you will still be able to come up with a pretty good list. I’m not talking major things here, although you may be able to come up with them to, but the petty little annoying things that you can reassure your mind that you won’t have to deal with anymore.
This is also a very good time to begin the process of getting the clutter out of your life
Rid yourself of all the small remembrances of your ex, from the teddy bear from the fair to the empty candy box left over from Valentines Day. Get rid of the odds and ends and put the more valuable items like the rings, necklaces and watches from Birthday and Christmas presents away and out of sight until such time that your emotions are more under control.
This doesn’t mean you have to get rid of everything, just the things that you have the strongest feelings about. Things that every time you look at them, remind you of the past. There will come a time when looking at these items will mean very little more than a remembrance of the past and you will be able to view them with no grief.
It is very important during this period to keep up with your old friends and also to begin cultivating new social activities. Dating should not be out of the question; after all it doesn’t have to be a romantic thing, just another avenue for adding new people into your life. Keeping busy and more importantly keeping your mind busy will make the time pass more rapidly so you can begin getting over a breakup and getting over your ex. Time is still the only element necessary to heal all wounds.
